For clients: your client portal
Your trademark firm uses Nishaan. If they invited you, you can follow your trademarks in your own client portal.
Signing in
Open the link in the invitation email. Choose Continue with Google with the Google account of the address your firm invited, or choose a password of at least 8 characters. After that, sign in the same way at the portal address in the email, or in the Nishaan app with I'm a client of a firm. If the link has expired or you forget your password, ask your firm to send a new invitation.
What you can do
- Home shows what is waiting for you, then the person at your firm who handles your marks (message, call or email them), then each of your trademarks with its status and the next step your firm is taking.
- Approvals lists the oppositions your firm asked you about: waiting, approved and declined.
- Open a trademark to see its application details (class, goods and services, office, filing date, use claimed) and its history.
- Updates lists every change to your marks. Renewals shows the marks due for renewal within a year.
- Messages lets you write to your firm.
- Documents holds the reports and letters your firm shares. Choose Upload to send your firm a file: a logo, a signed form, proof of use. PDFs and photos up to 10 MB work.
Filing a new trademark
To ask your firm to file a new name or logo, see Filing a new trademark.
Payments
Payments lists the invoices from your firm and your marks' renewals coming up, with your firm's fee. Tap Pay in your UPI app on a phone to pay in your UPI app; on a computer, the page shows the UPI ID and amount to pay from your phone. Then choose I have paid and add the UPI reference if you like. It shows as paid once your firm confirms.
You are also reminded about each renewal about 6 months, 3 months, 1 month and 7 days before it is due.
Approving an opposition
When someone files a mark that may conflict with yours, your firm can ask whether to oppose it. You see the other mark, its class, the journal it appeared in, the last date to oppose and your firm's recommendation. Choose Approve opposition or Decline, and add a note if you like. Your firm is told at once. Opposing usually has costs; ask your firm if you are not sure.
Your data
You see only your own trademarks and what your firm shares with you. Your firm decides who has access and can remove it at any time.
What does this mean?
Under a mark's status and under each update there is What does this mean? It explains, in a few plain sentences, what the status usually means, what usually happens next, and whether your firm usually needs anything from you. It is a general explanation, not legal advice: for anything about your own case, ask your firm.
Hindi
Under Your account, Language, choose हिंदी to see the portal in Hindi, or English to switch back. Your choice is kept for the next time you sign in, on the web and in the app. Explanations come in the language you choose. Emails from your firm stay in English for now.
The Hindi was written by machine and is being checked by a Hindi speaker. If a word reads oddly, tell your firm.
Book a call
Under Your account, Book a call, choose when you can talk (weekday morning, afternoon or evening, or Saturday), add your phone number and what you want to discuss, and choose Ask for a call. The person who handles your trademarks is told. When they book a time, you get an email and see the time on the same card.
Rate your firm
Under Your account, and on a filing once it is filed, you can give your firm 1 to 5 stars and a comment. Your firm sees the rating and your comment.
